The Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) has 4 Expansion Card slots, and not all ports support all types of Expansion Card. Shown below is a diagram outlining which cards will work with which ports.

**Ports 1,2,3, and 4 are shared on a first come first serve basis. So they are 1.5A by default, but one port from any of these can negotiate 3A over PD. Once that is taken, the other ports are limited to 1.5A.**

Please note this illustration is shown with the Laptop facing you as you would use it.

****More Information About High Power Consumption:****

When an USB-A expansion card is attached to the far left/right port (_1 & 3 according to the above image_), retimers will consume more power compared with when the same USB-A expansion card is attached to the near left/right port (_2 & 4 according to the above image_). This can lead to a shorter Modern Standby period.
