There are a number of measures you can take to make sure that you are getting the most performance out of your Framework Laptop 16 on Windows 11, we have listed these below:

## Power Mode

Windows 11 Power Modes allow you to choose between three different profiles, **Best Power Efficiency**, **Balanced** and **Best Performance**. Choosing Best Performance will unsurprisingly give the best performance, however this will be at the cost of some power efficiency.

To change the power mode, select **Start** > **Settings** \> **System** \> **Power & battery**.

## Power Supply

This is not specific to your operating system but making sure that you are using a 180W or 240W USB-PD power adapter will make sure that the processor and graphics are supplied with enough power to achieve their full performance.

Note that when using a 180W Power Supply or lower, the battery may drain slightly when your Framework Laptop 16 is under very heavy load, this is because the Battery is used to supplement the power delivered by the power supply when necessary.
